Health Equity and Inclusion Specialist
Pamela Abner, has over fifteen years of experience partnering with industry leaders to establish best practices
and innovative programming for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across business lines. She strives to create
health equity and culturally aware environments based on instilling fair behaviors and methodologies. In her
leadership role, she promotes utilizing reliable data collection and analytics, offering educational
opportunities, and setting standards for measures and metrics to help organizations identify discriminatory
practices and disparities. Additionally, she specifically focuses on eliminating barriers to care, employment and
education for marginalized groups as well as fostering relationships with community partners. Pamela also
serves as a guest presenter and panelist at national forums and heads a consulting practice providing expert
advice to organizations.
Pamela received her Bachelor’s degree in biology and health and society from Brown University and her
Master’s degree in public administration from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs.
She is currently an adjunct professor at the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health; a member of the Brown
University President’s Advisory Council on Biology and Medicine; a member of the Board The Phillips School of
Nursing Mount Sinai; a member of the Press Ganey National DEI Client Advisory Council; and serves on the
Leadership Council for the American Hospital Association’s Institute for Diversity and Health Equity. In
addition, she guides and mentors those seeking career and professional advice with an emphasis on
supporting individuals from underrepresented backgrounds.
